Mark Schmidt

Mark Schmidt, PLS – President

Mr. Schmidt has been working in the Land Surveying and Engineering field for over 35 years. He holds a Land Surveyors License in Pennsylvania and has extensive continuing education in Stormwater Management, Boundary Retracement and Erosion & Sedimentation Control. His professional experience has involved the design of development plans for both large and small residential, commercial and industrial projects. Mr. Schmidt leads a corporation consisting of qualified professionals, survey field crews, engineering technicians and project managers involved in land surveying, development design, and governmental permitting. Mr. Schmidt is a member of the following organizations: the Pennsylvania Society of Land Surveyors, ACSM/NSPS and PaMagic.
Christopher Schmidt

Christopher Schmidt, PE

Chris Schmidt, a Civil Engineer in the Etna office, has over 7 years of experience in the land development profession including a wide variety of residential developments. Chris is currently assigned the task of designing the Stormwater Management Plans for current and future projects at the Etna office. His experience enables him to approach a project from a unique perspective and obtain the necessary governmental approvals. Chris is a 2005 Graduate of the Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Civil Engineering.
Jerry Nist

Jerry Nist

Jerry is a 1984 graduate from Shaler High School & A. W. Beattie Technical School. He continued his education at Triangle Technical Institute were he received his Associates Degree in Drafting and Design. He joined the firm of Hampton Engineering in 1986 and worked for the founder Herman B. Schmidt. His duties consisted of field crew, property surveys, construction layout and topographical surveys. In 1991, the company transferred ownership to the current owner Mark B. Schmidt. At that time he took on an office position and worked his way to Project Manager. His expertise lies in Boundary Surveys, ALTA ASCM Land Title Surveys, Topographical Surveys, Commercial and Residential Site Developments and Subdivisions, Lot Line Revision Surveys and Fox Chapel Borough EAC’s. The seniority of over 20 years has been an assets to Hampton Technical Associate.
David Lindner

David Lindner

David joined the team at Hampton Technical Associates, Inc. in 2005 as a Draftsman. He graduated from Triangle Technical School in May of 2001. Prior to Hampton Technical, he detailed for a Pipe Hanger Company for 4 years. His Drafting skills enable him to create CAD Drawings for Residential and Commercial Surveys. This includes Subdivisions, Lot Line Revisions, Plot Plans and working closely with our City of Pittsburgh clients. His willingness to learn quickly is giving him the opportunity to be involved in the Design and Detailing of Large Commercial Land Developments in and around the Pittsburgh Area.
Robyn Brady

Robyn Brady

Robyn joined Hampton Technical Associates in 2007 as a Project Manager. She first began her career in the surveying and engineering field in 1979 as a draftsman and surveryor. This was back in the days when plans of record were drawn with pen and ink on linen paper. Later she became trained AutoCAD and has designed and prepared detailed plans of land developments such as residential subdivisions and commercial developments. Her education includes studying Civil Engineering Technology at the Forbes Road East Area Vocational Technical School and obtaining an Associate Degree in Civil Engineering Technologies from Allegheny County Community College.
Gregory Swab

Gregory Swab

Greg has been with Hampton Technical Associates, Inc. for over 12 years. He is a 1986 graduate of Point Park College with a Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Civil Engineering Technology. His 21 years of experience in Surveying, Land Development and the Engineering fields have led his career from a Tunnel/Field Engineer Party Chief in Washington D. C. to a Project Manager at Hampton Technical were his field of expertise is Gas Wells. He is also our Small Project Executive Director and is responsible for new job research and coordination with field personnel for the company.
Thomas Cenna

Thomas Cenna, RLA, LEED AP

Thomas is a Registered Landscape Architect (RLA) and LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP) with more than fifteen (15) years of planning and design experience.  He has worked on a wide variety of land development projects in his career including commercial, residential, healthcare and education (higher education and K-12) projects.  His project experience ranges from large scale planning to complex urban infill projects.

Thomas works very closely with other project team members such as civil engineers to ensure that a design concept for a project is carried out through detailed design and construction.  He also served as a primary liaison for permitting from various local, state and federal agencies for his clients including NPDES permits and any required utility permits.  He determines the appropriate resource management practices and design criteria to minimize and mitigate potential impacts to a project assuring consistency with local, state and federal environmental laws, regulations and policies.  Thomas strives to provide the most equitable and sustainable solutions to complex projects and goals.  He believes strongly in the importance of advocating low impact development and is committed to developing an understanding of the latest research in sustainability.

 

 

Mark Lesnick

Mark Lesnick – Vice President

Mark joined Hampton Technical Associates in 2000 as a Senior Project Manager and is currently a Vice President and manages the Mars Office. Mark served his country in the military as a Sergeant in the United States Army Reserves from 1983 to 1989. Mark’s education includes studying Criminal Justice and Computer Science at Westmoreland County Community College and he has obtained an Associate Degree of Specialized Technologies and Architectural Design and Drafting from Triangle Tech. He has extensive experience in the design and management of complex projects including both residential and commercial from concept, through permitting and construction. Mark is a member of the North Way Christian Community.
Matthew Schmidt

Matthew Schmidt, PE, SIT

Matt graduated from Pennsylvania College of Technology in 2006 with a bachelors of science in Civil Engineering Technology. He is currently an Engineer and in the process of obtaining his professional Surveying License in the State of Pennsylvania. He started working for Hampton Technical Associates, Inc. in January of 2006. In his time with the firm Matt has worked on a wide variety of projects. He has done Stormwater Management Reports, Joint Permits, Hec-Ras studies, residential and commercial developments, Highway Occupancy permits, and NPDES Permits.
Scott Foreman

Scott Foreman

Scott is a Project Manager with Hampton Technical Associates and has been with the company since 2001. He is a graduate of North Allegheny High School and attended Triangle Technical Institute where he studied Architectural Drafting and Design. Scott works on a wide variety of projects from large commercial developments, residential subdivisions, roadway design and reconstruction plans. He takes these projects from the conceptual stage, through the design and permitting stage and ultimately through the construction stage. Scott works with project owners, review engineers and municipal government agencies to provide a total project that meets or exceeds the clients expectations.
Richard Vogel

Richard Vogel, Senior Crew Chief

Rich’s education includes a Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering Technology from Point Park University and an Associate Degree in Construction Surveying from Allegheny County Community College. Rich’s professional experience includes over 25 years in the surveying profession. Major projects include the Liberty Tunnel Interchange, Greater Pittsburgh International Airport and hundreds of residential and commercial developments. His areas of expertise include construction layout such as commercial building layout, highways, grading, pipe work and residential housing. He also has experience in boundary retracements, topographic mapping, aerial mapping control surveys and, ALTA surveys. Rich has worked with all of the latest equipment including; GPS, Total Stations, Data Collectors and CAD Software.
Riad Mahmood

Riad Mahmood, Director of Technology & Field Supervisor

Riad joined Hampton Technical Associates as a Party Chief. Riad draws upon his extensive education and practical experience in surveying to deliver on time, reliable results. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geodetic Engineering from the Israeli Institute of Technology. He has over fourteen years of experience as a project manager and surveyor in commercial, residential, and construction projects. He is interested in utilizing new methods and technologies to deliver timely cost-effective solutions. Riad is fluent in the latest technology; including experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, GPS equipment and programs, and has completed additional formal coursework in Information Technology. He also has a unique and valuable understanding of both field and office components of projects and provides innovative solutions, attention to detail and consistent client satisfaction.
